Invitation to Community Action Planning Session & Annual General Meeting

Invitation to Treaty 6 Justice Collective (T6JC)
Annual General Meeting
and Community Action Planning Session

Treaty 6 Justice Collective is a new organization working to enhance and support collective efforts advocating for social, environmental, and economic justice.

We’ve partnered with Turning the Tide Bookstore to create The Stand – Community Organizing Centre, a space that houses the bookstore and provides working, meeting and event space for organizations, community organizers, and concerned individuals working for change.

We are inviting anyone who is passionate about social, environmental, or economic justice issues – whether or not you’re already involved in taking action on them.

Our goal is to provide a space for us all to learn more about what’s happening in our community and to find ways we can collaborate to increase our collective impact.

This discussion will also contribute to T6JC’s organizational planning, guiding us in how we can best achieve our mission of supporting the efforts of community members and groups working towards social, environmental and economic justice.

Date – Thursday, January 28, 2016, 6 PM
Location – The Stand – Community Organizing Centre
615 Main Street, Saskatoon

6:00 – 8:30pm Community Action Planning session

(Open to T6JC members and non-members)

We invite you to attend this planning session to:

•    Learn more about T6JC, The Stand, and the vision we are working towards.

•    Find out how you can contribute to the collective efforts towards achieving social, environmental, and economic justice.

•    Share the work you or your organization is already doing or planning to do this year. Feel free to bring materials (flyers, handouts) as well! Let everyone know how they can support your work – the more specific, the better! (Eg. Joining your Facebook page, helping out with postering, sharing information, making food.)

8:30 – 9pm Business meeting of the AGM
(Open to all T6JC members. Apply here to become a member.)
•    Annual and financial reports
•    Approval of memberships

If you’d like to be part of this, please let know by January 26 so that we can be sure to have enough room and snacks for everyone.
